There’s nothing more important than the people behind a business. When you hire Roseblade Media, you hire our whole team, our expertise and knowledge.
We want to introduce you to those powering the marketing for our clients. So let's meet Mathew.
Mathew started the company in 2010 as a side project to studying in uni, and through several different changes, we became Roseblade Media in 2016 with Mathew as the Managing Director of the company.
Let’s learn a bit more about Mathew…
What motivated you to start a marketing agency?
It came as a bit of an accident if I'm honest. I always wanted to start my own business, which I think is down to the fun I had as part of Young Enterprise at school. From there, I wanted to start a business that makes websites for different businesses and organisations.
But as time went on, I wanted to do more and learn more, and so things like web apps, graphic design and other forms of marketing were added to what we do.
What do you enjoy the most about working at Roseblade Media?
I enjoy most of it, so it's tricky for me to pick out one particular part.
I love the flexibility to do what I want - the joys of running your own business! But I really enjoy working with our team and watching our clients grow, and our business with it, as time progresses.
How is it working alongside your wife?
Is she going to read this?
Honestly, it's great fun. She's always been supportive of me and what I do, so having Siân work alongside me made perfect sense. She knows the businesses inside and out, and asking her to become a director was ideal.
Don't get me wrong, we have our days - working and living together can be challenging, but the positives outweigh the negatives massively.
If your life was a movie, who would you like to play you?
I'm told my lookalike is Warwick Davis, so based on looks, I guess he'd be my choice. Although I am taller!
But I would love David Tenant to take up the role, mainly because I think he's a really good actor.
What do you do to relax outside of work?
I try to stay active if I can, mainly by walking. I especially enjoy mountain walking - some of the views we have around here are amazing.
I'm also a big Marvel fan, so watching Marvel films and TV series is a favourite of mine. That, plus I enjoy gaming on both PC and Xbox.
What’s the biggest challenge of working as a director?
Time and patience. Things don't always happen as quick as you'd like, and managing my time can be challenging.
But with a strong team around you, sided with good planning, things can run smoothly.
If you were a planet, which one would you be?
What a question!
Because of my love for Marvel, I'd have to go for Nidavellir - the place where Thor's hammer came from, just because it seems awesome. Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, and the axe, Stormbreaker, are both amazing, so that planet is obviously the place to be.
Finally, if you had to choose, would you rather be invisible, or have the ability to fly?
That's a tough one, but I think it would be invisible, but let me explain my reasoning...
Flying would be absolutely amazing - imagine how quickly you can get to places! But if you fly, people would see you, and suddenly, people would want you to play taxi for them.
Being invisible, however, you could do whatever you want, and literally, no one would see you. They wouldn't know you were there, and would probably never know I had that power!
