There’s nothing more important than the people behind a business. When you hire Roseblade Media, you hire our whole team, our expertise and knowledge.

We want to introduce you to those powering the marketing for our clients. So let’s meet Ryan - on his birthday too (Happy Birthday Ryan!)

Ryan joined the team in 2021 as part of the Kickstart scheme. He joined us as a Junior Web Developer, he quickly found his feet and has become a valued member of the team.

Ryan helps with the driving force behind a website, connecting all the dots to make sure the right data appears in the right place. Chances are, if you've had a website made by us since Ryan joined our team, a bit of his handy work is there in the code, and powering what your visitors see.

Let’s learn a bit more about Ryan…

Why did you choose to join Roseblade Media?

My main reason for joining Roseblade Media is that I enjoy coding and learning new things. Coding is one of those occupations where you have to constantly learn new things and improve yourself as it constantly evolves, both from the programs you are using getting new updates and features to you yourself finding new ways to implement features.

What do you enjoy the most about working at Roseblade Media?

To be honest, I have two things I immensely enjoy about working at Roseblade Media. The first is the company, as in the team I am working with. To elaborate on that, Mathew is a nice person to talk to and I am not just saying that because he is my Boss.

The second enjoyment I take is the self improvement aspect. I always learn something new, be it from learning how to interact with APIs, all the way to how the colour of the website can dictate how it feels.

How do you find being part of a small team?

It is honestly nice to work in a small team. It feels more friendly to work in such a small setting compared to always shifting who you are working with and having to integrate as quickly and smoothly as possible. It also makes it much easier to ask for help as it your superior is not changing every other week.

Have you ever been mistaken for someone famous?

As sad as it is, No, I have never been mistaken for someone famous. If anything I was only slightly famous in school due to having moved to Wales from Germany. Other than that, there is nothing I can think of that would fit this category.

What is one thing you would do if you knew you wouldn't fail?

If it is a 100% guaranteed success rate, I would create a sentient AI. Yes Skynet tells us no with the worst case scenario wiping out humanity. Best case scenario would be us colonizing entirely different galaxies in a hundred years.

What’s the biggest challenge of working as a web developer?

Creating websites. When it comes down to it, there are so many things that go into making a website, that it can be mind boggling sometimes. From a design that the customer is happy with, to features they want implemented and all the way down to the quality of life features that are often overseen such as smooth scrolling. There is a lot of things that go on in the background to make the foreground look pretty, and it is quite the task to ensure everything runs as it should and there are no bugs or errors that happen because "I thought a smiley face in the account name would be nice"

What is the worst food you have ever eaten?

My dad once managed to horribly burn mashed potatoes and bacon when I was a child. I dont know how he achieved this, but it tasted horrible and I still remember that day with horror since he also made me eat the full plate. "It was not that bad" he says. I still dont like mashed potatoes because of that. When it comes to drinks I once accidentally took a swig of fryer oil. My mother was cleaning out the fryer and put the oil in a coca cola bottle and the rest explains itself.

Finally, which super villain would you be?

There is only one answer for me to this one. The Iconic Doctor Victor Von Doom. From having access to both magic and futuristic technology, down to the ability to quite literally just steal the power of any other being, including the Beyonder who has millions of times the power of the entire marvel multiverse combined, he is just an incredible guy. Now if only he did not have that obsession with Reed Richards.
